Last Ballot for 2025 UK Young Professionals Visa Starts July 22

If you are an Indian citizen between the ages of 18 and 30 who wants to work in the United Kingdom, this is your final opportunity for 2025. The UK government will open the second and last ballot for the India Young Professionals Scheme Visa at 1:30 PM IST on 22 July 2025, closing exactly 48 hours later at 1:30 PM IST on 24 July 2025.

This round will fill the remaining places under the UK–India Youth Mobility Partnership. Most of the 3,000 visa spots were allocated in the February ballot, so if you missed that round, now is the time to apply.

What Is the India Young Professionals Scheme?

The India Young Professionals Scheme is part of a reciprocal agreement between India and the UK aimed at promoting youth mobility and cultural exchange.

Benefits of This Visa:

  • A 24-month visa to live, work, and travel across the UK
  • No employer sponsorship required
  • Gain international work experience in any sector
  • Open to a wide range of professions, not tied to your degree

In return, young UK citizens also have the opportunity to live and work in India.

Who Is Eligible to Enter the Ballot?

To participate in the ballot, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be an Indian national aged 18–30
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (RQF Level 6 or equivalent)
  • Have at least $3,394.49 in savings, held for 28 consecutive days
  • Have no dependent children under 18
  • Never previously held a Youth Mobility or India Young Professionals visa

Only eligible applicants will be considered. Duplicate or ineligible entries will be disqualified.

How to Enter the Ballot

Ballot entry is free and takes only a few minutes. You’ll need:

  • Full name and date of birth
  • Passport details with a clear scan or photo
  • Valid email address and phone number

The UK government will randomly select successful applicants and notify them by email within 14 days of ballot closure. No appeals are allowed if you are not selected.

If Selected: What Happens Next?

Those selected must:

  • Apply for the visa within 3 months
  • Pay the £298 visa fee (approx. $428.08)
  • Pay the immigration health surcharge for NHS coverage
  • Book and attend a biometric appointment (fingerprints and photo)

Failure to complete these steps on time will result in your slot being forfeited.

All details and application steps are available on the UK Home Office official website.

How Many Slots Are Left?

The UK allocated 3,000 visas to Indian nationals for 2025. The majority were granted in February, and this final ballot will allocate the remaining few hundred.

Important notes:

  • Only one entry per applicant is allowed
  • Multiple submissions will be rejected

Why This Visa Matters

This is one of the most flexible visa routes for young Indian professionals. It:

  • Does not tie you to a specific job or employer
  • Lets you gain international exposure
  • Offers a 24-month stay without the pressure of long-term immigration pathways
  • Enables you to travel freely across the UK and Europe

The India Young Professionals Scheme is a unique chance to grow your career, explore new cultures, and gain valuable international experience.
